It is a condition that affects the pituitary gland, causing it to release hormones that produce an overgrowth of cells in a person’s bones, muscles, and tendons. Cases of pituitary gigantism usually occur due to over-secretion of growth hormone from cells in the pituitary gland.

Robert Wadlow
Robert Paul Wadlow stood 8 ft 11 in and was the tallest confirmed person to have ever lived in history. Robert was born in Alton, Illinois, in 1918 and was diagnosed with a rare condition called ‘hypertrophy of the pituitary gland” He experienced mental illness & hormonal issues from this condition which caused him to produce an excessive amount of human growth hormone.
Wadlow’s height was constantly increasing throughout his life. When he was eight, he was already 6 “2 and weighed 77kg. One of the most significant physical problems that he faced was his size. Robert suffering from a severe hormonal imbalance, was excessive in size, making it difficult for doctors to address his situation.

Extraordinarily, Wadlow could attend college, but his condition led to several problems. His brittle bones made it difficult for him to walk around campus, and he needed leg braces towards the end. There was also sensory loss in his feet due to diminishing nerve signals.
For his appearance in Manistee, Michigan as a professional wrestler, J.C. Wadlow ended up having a problem wearing a faulty leg brace that led to an infection afterward. Wadlow passed away in his sleep when he was 22 years old in 1940. Over 30,000 people attended his funeral, and twelve pallbearers carried his body.
John Rogan
Born in Tennessee, John William “Bud” Rogan was 8 ft 9 in tall and the second tallest human to have ever been. He started to grow rapidly at the age of 13 and continued to add height until he reached his full height a few years later.
Rogan’s extreme height left him in a lot of pain. His joints were inflamed, leading to ankylosis, making it incredibly difficult to do anything. His condition left him unable to put any weight on his feet. As time passed, John’s condition deteriorated, and he was eventually forced to use crutches for mobility. When Rogan had an accident in 1882, he could no longer stand or walk.
Other than always being the center of attention, he would often be pulled around in a goat cart that he designed himself. Rogan struggled to work due to his condition but found the ability to sell himself through photography at the local train station. As of 1905, John was deceased and buried under a layer of concrete to keep curious scientists from uncovering his coffin up.
Brahim Takioullah
Brahim Takioullah was 8 ft 1 in tall. He is also the owner of the “world’s largest feet on a living person,” and at over 15 inches, it’s no wonder why.
Takioullah was born in Morocco in 1982, which led to his size because of a tumor that affects his pituitary gland. He has a tumor that affects his pituitary gland, so he is so much taller than anyone else. What’s so interesting about this disease is that it can make people grow abnormal. Now Takioullah has a tumor that keeps increasing the levels of Human Growth Hormone in his system.
Morocco’s Mohammed Elkadri has an unusual height condition. Once his height caught the attention of a school doctor and the man was advised to get a blood test, he was diagnosed with a pituitary gland disorder in which the body releases too much growth hormone.

Don Koehler
Don Koehler, one of the tallest men ever born in Denton, Texas, hit a staggering height of 8 feet 2 inches. After he was 10 years old, he started growing at an alarming rate. He was the tallest man in the world until he died in 1981.
Despite hotel rooms being relatively spacious, it was difficult for Koehler to find a room that would accommodate him. Even when they found a room with two beds, they had to put them together, or he wouldn’t be able to fit in them.
Finding somewhere “big enough” to live, all while not bumping your head, was a challenge for Koehler. Koehler’s sister was only 5 ft 9 in tall. Their 29-inch difference is the Guinness World Record for twins. During the last years of his life, Koehler had a kyphosis condition, which reduced his stature. Koehler expired at the age of 55 from heart disease. His height was shrunk by then, and he was 7 feet tall.
VikasUppal – 8 ft 3 in (2 m 51 cm) (Contested)
We do not know much about Indian giant VikasUppal’s short life but claim that he is the world’s tallest man. In 1986, he was born in the Rohtak district of Haryana. However, the official Guinness World Records have never measured him.
Indian newspaper the Tribune reported that Uppal was nearly 8ft 3in tall when measured in his late teens. A similar claim was also made by Indian news & entertainment website Rediff.com in 2005, and reported Uppal’s height 8ft 10in tall – with that he would be the second tallest person ever in human history. Although there are some claims that his height was 8ft 9in, the generally accepted height is 8ft 3in.
Despite the debate over height, Uppal sadly passed away on June 30th, 2007, when doctors tried to remove his brain tumor and failed to succeed.
Bernard Coyne
Bernard A. Coyne was 8 ft 2 in tall, and he lived in Anthon, Iowa, from 1898 to 1902. He had eunuchoidal infantile gigantism. Daddy-longlegs is a condition often referred to as eunuchoidal infantile gigantism and is a very rare condition. Coyne’s exact height at the time of his death is still unknown. A WWI registration card reveals that Coyne was already 8-ft tall and just 21 years old when he enlisted in 1918. When Coyne died in 1921, aged 23, he was probably about 8 feet 2 in tall. Some sources reveal he was 8ft 4in tall.
He was one of only a handful of recorded medical history taller than 8 feet. Coyne died from a combination of hardening his liver and getting a glandular fever.
